Hello Vincenzo
'Scratch my Back' is now released worldwide, with the exception of the U.S.A, where although time is too slow for those who wait, the release on March 2nd is not far away.
We have the album available in a variety of formats CD, Special Edition CD, Vinyl and download, along with exclusive t-shirts and news of a deluxe box-set. All pre-order by U.S customers include an instant download of The Magnetic Fields' track from the album, 'The Book of Love.' Take a look at our 'Scratch My Back' purchase pages.
Peter is bringing 'New Blood', the live 'Scratch My Back' experience, to select venues in Paris, Berlin, London, Montreal, New York and Los Angeles. We have a very limited number of special 'Soundcheck Access' packages available for some of theses venues. Links to standard tickets and a list of all dates are available on the website.
One thing we often lament is the shrinking of the artwork that is attached to music. Only the minority who choose to buy 'Scratch My Back' on vinyl will begin to get the traditional 12" of artwork. For CD buyers that shrank to somewhere around 12.5cm square and for digital purchasers the decline has continued, often no more than a thumbnail is attached to the music.
We want to free artwork from these dwindling presentations. Peter Gabriel albums are the product of just as much intense labour and passion visually as acoustically, so we have formed Real World Galleries, initially to release a series of hand-signed limited edition specialist fine art prints of all Peter Gabriel's album covers.
The prints are hand signed by Peter and the artists or are authorised and stamped by the estates where the artist is no longer with us.
The editions are limited to 100 for the regular sizes and are limited to 25 for the larger sizes. We'll keep you posted as the project swings into life.
Another method of getting more visual bang for your digital buck is to get a copy of our first in-house iTunes LP (The U.S. version will be available to pre-order soon). The team at Real World worked closely with the folks at Apple to develop this rich 'Scratch My Back' experience. We're still basking in the glow of being told that the testers at Apple were 'impressed' with what we had put together, by all accounts it's the kind of praise they don't give out easily.
Don't forget you can get involved in the 'Scratch My Back' project over at Real World Remixed, where some great mixes of 'Not One Of Us' are being uploaded.
The second of the iTunes Digital 45's will be out on March 19th. Peter's version of Paul Simon's 'The Boy In The Bubble', and Paul Simon's version of 'Biko' - lot's to look forward to on the next full moon.
