A quando THE LAMB ? [:D]

TRACK 1:

Intro: Backing vocals (without "escape from reality" and "little low").
Ballad: Backing vocals (before the solo) a capella. Beautifully made.
Scaramouch: Three-part
Thunderbolt...me: Wide bounce including Rog's high "very very frightening me" and a bass-voice by Freddie.
Magnifico: Missing the last bit of the build-up
He's just a poor boy...monstrosity: Top and bottom voice.
No we will not let you go: Wide bounce
We will not let you go (twice): Bass-voice dominating
We will not let you go (last time): Including high vocals
Will not let you go...: All parts
No no no no no no no: All parts, multi-tracked
Mamma mia... for me: Most parts, Rog's highest note being a high F
Reprise: "Oh oh oh oh oh yeah" vocals a capella, including an oscillating "o-o-oh yeah" which I personally hadn't noticed before (maybe it was dropped from the final mix).

TRACK 2:

Intro: Backing vocals (high-parts dominating), without ("escape from reality", and "little high"). Some flat notes here and there.
Ballad: Same part as track one (part of the double-tracking, I reckon).
Scaramouch: Three-part
Thunderbolt...me: Same parts as track 1
Magnifico: Missing the penultimate bit
He's just... monstrosity - no ,we will not let you go, we will not let you go: Similar as track 1 (to be double-checked)
No no no...: Without the bass-voice. I *think* Roger's doing both parts here.
Mamma mia let me go... for me: Without bass-voice. Roger hits a high F again.
Reprise: Same parts but mixed differently.

TRACK 3:

Intro: "No escape from reality" (favouring low parts)
Rest of the song: Drums.

TRACK 4:

Intro: "No escape from reality" (favouring high parts)
Rest of the song: Drums.

TRACK 5:

Fred counting "one, two, three, four"
Rest of the song: Drums.

TRACK 6:

Drums (favouring bass-drum)

TRACK 7:

Bass. Some mistakes here and there, but great performance for the most part.

TRACKS 8 & 9:

Bass (other signals from the same take).

TRACKS 10 & 11:

Piano (including the beginning, where of course it was edited out for the final mix). Some mistakes here and there as well, but mostly a marvellous track. Before "no" Fred says "one". "Anyone can see" can be heard too. After it's over Fred says "oh cuddle it".

TRACK 12:

Intro: Single-tracked lead vocal, with some off-pitch notes. Missing the "easy come...little low" bit.
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me: Low part (in octaves).
Magnifico: One of the "oh".
He's just a poor boy ... monstrosity: Two-part, both in the low range. It's nice to hear Rog doing low vocals.
Bismilah: Double-tracked (or triple-tracked) low part.
Never, never, never... let me go: This is perhaps the take used in the final mix since it sounds much better than the others.
Mamma mia let me go... for me: Mostly a half-falsetto half-head bit by Freddie, but there are some other things in the background.
Rock section & Reprise: Rhythm Guitar. Great playing by Dr May.

TRACK 13:

Intro: Single-tracked lead vocal (the one that made it to the definitive version). Wonderful performance, very passionate. Here he did "doesn't really matter... to me" (without the first "two me"), unlike the track 12. 'Twas tad easier this way.
Ballad: A capella single-tracked lead vocal (an alternate take, not the one in the final mix). "I've got to go, I've gotta leave you all behind and face the truth", having a slightly different melody), and "don't want to die" instead of "don't wanna die".
Let him go: Three-part, without Roger's high falsetto.
Let me go...: All or most of the bits.
Rock Section & Reprise: Extra snare (Brian wasn't the only one who overdubbed his instruments!)

TRACK 14:

Intro: Single-tracked lead vocal (very similar to the one in track 13, but the "poor boy" part gives away that this one isn't *the one*).
Ballad: A capella single-tracked lead vocal (alternate take). "I've got to go" is slightly different. Nice lyric change: "I don't wanna die, but I sometimes wish...".
Let him go: Favouring the high part (but without the high soprano)
Let me go: Favouring high part
Let me go...: All or most of the bits.
Rock Section & Reprise: Rhythm guitar, marvellously executed.

TRACK 15:

Intro: Yet another lead vocal take. "I'm just a poor boy" probably made it to the final mix, the rest... maybe some parts, but not all.
Ballad: Lead vocal. Most of what made it to the final mix is here. Note that the "carry on carry on" bit was a mix of two tracks. The last "chorus" is missing, but then there's the guitar solo, a superb performance by Dr May.
Very very frightening me: Fred's soprano part (didn't make it to the final mix).
Magnifico: One of the "oh".
Bismilah: High part by a double-tracked Fred.
Will not let you go: In octaves by Fred.
Mamma mia let me go and beginning of rock: Rhythm guitar (single-tracked).
Rock section: Piano, bass and drums (from Fred's vocal mic).
Reprise: Backing vocals (but different ones to those in tracks 1 and 2).
Nothing really matters...: "Anyone can see". Now I've got another theory: this track originally came from the boom-mic Fred had at the backing track take - hence the "cuddle it" line appearing again.
Piano solo: One guitar line.

TRACK 16:

Intro: "Open your eyes look up to the skies and see", lead vocal only. A correction maybe?
Ballad: "Carry on carry on" and "matters" from the first cycle, the entire "Mamma... at all" from the second. Patching things up I suppose...
Scaramouch: All bounce.
Lightning... me: One of the lines, multi-tracked.
Magnifico: Only "mag" and one "oh".
He's just... family: High falsetto by Rog.
Spare him... monstrosity: Fred, mostly.
Bismilah: Timpani.
No no no...: Double-tracked bass-voice by Lord Teeth
Beelzebub... put aside for: Double-tracked bass-voice by Lord Teeth
Rock Section: An overdubbed drum-part. Again, Brian wasn't the one who layered instruments!
Fanfare: Multi-tracked guitars with Deacy amp. My favourite bit in the entire song!
Post-ending: Roger and Freddie speaking.

TRACK 17:

Intro: Fred counts "one", then starts one of the harmony lines, in falsetto, then head voice. This track's heavily edited, maybe there were some off-pitch notes (even the ones who're kept are sometimes somewhat odd). The famous flanging cymbal from "wind blows" is in here - it's great to listen to it isolated.
Ballad: Rhythm guitar.
Very very frightening me: Double-tracked soprano voice by Freddie, which didn't make it to the final mix.
He's just a poor boy... monstrosity: Fred's baritone voice, double-tracked.
Bismilah: Fred's low part, double-tracked.
Never... let me go: An alternate take, with some off-pitch bits in "go"
Beelzebub... for me: Double-tracked bass-voice by Lord Teeth.
Rock Section: Some bits of the piano track leaked here, but mostly just Fred's lead vocal.
Reprise: High harmonies. The "oh yeah" makes me suspect Roger lent his voice here too.
Nothing really matters... wind blows: Lead vocal (the one in the final mix). After the song's over, Fred tries another "blows" and says "no".

TRACK 18:

Intro: Yet another lead vocal alternate take, mostly falsetto, with some off-pitch notes here and there (e.g. "skies"). The flanged cymbal's here as well.
Ballad: Rhythm guitar.
Lightning... me: Middle-part, double-tracked.
Magnifico: One of the "oh"
He's just... family: Rog's falsetto
Spare... monstrosity: Double-tracked mid-bit (by Roger, I think).
Bismilah: Low part.
Never... let me go: Again, the "go" is off-key.
Mamma mia let me go: A weak falsetto by Rog.
For me: The famous soprano Bb by a single-tracked Roger.
Rock Section: Some parts of the piano take, but mostly the other Fred's lead vocal (this part's double-tracked in the final mix).
Reprise: Angelical high voices. I'm convinced now that Roger's there too. Note that Brian is barely heard at all.
Nothing really matters... to me: Alternate lead vocal take.
Anyway the wind blows: Another lead vocal. Maybe they did use both for this line.

TRACK 19:

Intro: Again, a heavily edited alternate lead vocal, missing (for instance) the second "to me".
Lightning... me: Another line, multi-tracked.
Magnifico: Some fragments.
He's just a poor boy... monstrosity: Similar to track 18.
Bismilah: Low part (only twice)
Never... let me go: Fred was having serious problems with that "go", dunno why.
For me: Double-tracked high Ab by Rog.
Rock Section: Another lead vocal (maybe unused). At the end, one of the guitar scales.
Fanfare: Lead guitar.
Outro: The famous gong.

TRACK 20:

Intro: Yet another heavily edited (probably unused) lead vocal take.
Ballad: The beautiful guitar-chimes ornament during "shivers". Nothing else.
Lightning... me: A low (but not the lowest) part.
Magnifico: "Mag" and one "o"
He's just... monstrosity: The same as one of the others.
Let him go: Roger's double-tracked soprano.
Let me go (twice): Roger's double-tracked soprano
Second build-up: Double-tracked Fred in the last "o"
Beelzebub... for me: Double-tracked bass-voice by Fred. Stronger than the other tracks having the same part.
Rock Section: Fred's lead vocal (unused, maybe because there's a vocal crack in "die", "out" and "here"). At the end, another of the guitar scales.
Fanfare: Another guitar part, complementing the one in track 19.

TRACK 21:

Intro: Another heavily edited lead vocal take. "See" and "boy" are off-key.
Ballad: Guitar harmonics doubling the hand-crossing lick.
Thunderbolt and light: Very weak falsetto, double-tracked (or sung by two people at least).
Galileo: High part by Fred (unused)
He's just a poor boy... monstrosity: Weak falsetto (probably by Fred and Roger), most likely unused.
Bismilah: Only the first two - bass-voice by Fred.
Never... let me go: Same as before.
End of opera - beginning of rock: (Probably unused) rhythm guitar.
End of rock: Two more of the scales.
Fanfare: Another beautiful guitar part.
Reprise: The famous descending guitar bit before the last vocal line.

TRACK 22:

Intro: Lead vocal from "caught" onwards. Very similar to the one in the final mix, so maybe this is the one.
Ballad: Lead vocal. Maybe they cut n' pasted from the other tracks in here so they'd have the definitive lead vocal in just one track, it'd be logical. Note that the second "carry on" is overlapped with "as if".
Opera: Lead vocal ("I see a little...man", low "Galileo", "but I'm just a poor boy nobody loves me", "easy come easy go will you let me go", Roger's high "let me go", Fred's low "let you go" and "oh mamma mia mamma mia") and a double-tracked bass-voice by Fred during "Beelzebub ... for me".
Rock: An overdubbed piano (note that "just gotta get out" is different from the one in the backing track). At the end, more guitar scales.
Fanfare: Another guitar line.
Outro: Descending guitar line again.

TRACK 23:

Intro: Single-tracked slave vocal by Fred, heavily edited (maybe done as a guide for the multi-tracked choir).
Ballad: The famous "anyway the windblows" and a falsetto ascending-descending harmony, both by single-tracked Freddie.
Opera: High Galileos by Roger, a double-tracked falsetto in "he's just a poor boy ... monstrosity".
Bismilah: Double-tracked bass-voice by Fred, twice.
Never... let me go: Alternate take.
Beelzebub... for me: Double-tracked bass-voice by Freddie.
Rock Section: Rhythm guitar during the end.
Piano Solo: Guitar ornaments, marvellously played.

TRACK 24:

Intro: Same as 23, but of course a different take.
Ballad: Same as 23, but a different take (for the stereo panning).
Opera: Fred's low "Galileo Figaro"
He's just a poor boy... monstrosity: High falsetto
Bismilah: Bass-voice by Fred twice.
Never... let me go: Another alternate take.
Beelzebub... for me: Double-tracked bass-voice by Lord Teeth.
End of rock section & Reprise: The missing guitar bit (the one playing softly while Fred is singing).
