Eravate tutti ansiosi di confrontarvi su un anno come questo. Io, invece, ne sono spaventato. Il brano che classificherei al trecentesimo posto nel 1971 potrebbe stravincere la classifica di un anno di magra! Vi rendete conto di quello che si "scarta"? [:0] Comunque...

Ragazzi, Wikipedia mi dice anno di pubblicazione Fragile 1 novembre 1971. Mentre Anno di Pubblicazione Islands Dicembre 1971(se avete il cd dell'anniversario nel booklet c'è addirittura una classifica del 18 dicembre 1971)

Il retro del cd di "Fragile" mi dice 1972.
A chi devo credere ?

Ho effettuato tutti i controlli possibili. Avete perfettamente ragione: benché tutti i supporti indichino la data 1972, la prima uscita in USA è nel 1971. Nessun problema quindi con la tua classifica, GuardianMagog. Sarò io a cambiare la mia. [;)]

Visto l'interesse che certamente susciterà il podio del 1971, pubblico già nel post iniziale la prima classifica provvisoria. [:)]

poche storie, questo è "uno degli anni del prog", non c'è posto per "i secondi"; ha detto giustamente DALEX che un "trecentesimo posto" qui aspira a "number 1" in un anno di magra...

piuttosto, in un anno come questo, il vero problema è stilare una classifica di merito, perchè tutto qui è incredibilmente di livello elevatissimo.

pazzesco, due monumenti come THE YES ALBUM e FRAGILE nello stesso anno, un massacro! [:(]

sorry, data la grandezza degli albums da cui provengono questi brani, per me qui non c'è posto per pink floyd o deep purple(che non sono prog) o altri, perchè un altra decina di brani(almeno) dei soli YES GENESIS VDGG KING CRIMSON GENTLE GIANT, veri alfieri del prog, meriterebbe di occupare la classifica per l'anno 71! [:)]

Uffa, tutti questi gruppi meritavano più di due citazioni, ma i posti sono dieci... e poi sono album talmente “densi” che scegliere solo due canzoni è un’impresa...

mi spiace per gli Yes, che sono presenti con due album meravigliosi, cui ho dato solo un posticino, ma non potevo assolutamente fare altrimenti, anzi fino all'ultimo sono stata tentata di toglierli[:D][I8)]

amo troppo i Jethro di Aqualung (lasciare fuori My god mi costa... e anche altre...), i Nostri[^], i VDGG di PH ecc...

Nine feet underground non è assolutamente possibile lasciarla fuori, è stupenda...

anche i KC meritavano di più... vabbè ho messo Islands che è nel mio cuore...

Gli ELP... li ho amati e li amo, Take a pebble è poco, avrei messo pure Tarkus... che sofferenza...[:-|]

che dire dei GG... Patagruel’s nativity è uno dei pezzi più belli e perfetti della storia del prog, ma si meritavano anche altre citazioni... vabbè, alla fine bisogna pur scegliere[:.-(]

Di Led Zeppelin IV (uno dei miei dischi preferiti di sempre) avrei senz’altro messo “When the Levee Breaks”, la trovo la più “progressiva” dell’album... purtroppo vale il discorso fatto sopra...

Pur amando i Pink quasi alla follia, devo ammettere che in quest’anno così ricco bisogna necessariamente dare spazio al progressive classico, e loro in verità sono “altro”... anche se anch’io avrei messo volentieri Echoes...[8:-x]

Qui siamo davvero alla Bibbia del prog, difficile commentare senza rischiare di cadere nello scontato

Seven Stones - Genesis - (Nursery Cryme)
A volte nel preferire un brano invece che un altro entrano in gioco fattori che esulano dalla musica...ad ogni modo se prima eravamo alla Bibbia del prog qui siamo alla Bibbia del mellotron

Islands - King Crimson - (Islands)
Chi ama un certo tipo di prog romantico non può permettersi di riporre nel cassetto i nove minuti di Islands...e la cornetta di Marc Charig è pura poesia, semplicemente

Roundabout - Yes - (Fragile)
Disco a dir poco epocale e Roundabout è una perla intramontabile con Anderson a livelli celestiali

Cross-Eyed Mary - Jethro Tull - (Aqualung)
E' già stato sottolineato ma mi permetto di porre ancora l'accento sull'intro di flauto e mellotron a dir poco leggendario

Man-Erg - Van Der Graaf Generator - (Pawn Hearts)
Uno dei miei primi brani di prog, un autentico mondo che mi si spalancava davanti, indimenticabile

Grail - Spring - (Spring)
Un solo disco prodotto e, per me, un capolavoro con tre mellotron da antologia ma mai invasivi...la parte finale di questo pezzo è di una bellezza spaventosa

Mockingbird - Barclay James Harvest - (Once Again)
Mi rendo perfettamente conto che li citerò solo io ma Mockingbird è una ballata ad un tempo nostalgica e struggente e per giunta anche qui il finale è bello da star male

Golf Girl - Caravan - (In The Land Of Grey And Pink)
Come dimenticare Canterbury in un'annata del genere?

Munich - Cressida - (Asylum)
Ero indeciso fra loro e gli Indian Summer per chiudere la decina e pur reputando un capolavoro l'unico disco di questi ultimi ho preferito inserire Munich brano di straordinaria versatilità che, specie nella parte centrale, sembra quasi "live"...cose che oggettivamente accadevano solo negli anni settanta

Ovviamente tante esclusioni anche da parte mia, celebri e meno celebri...magari stilando la classifica domattina troverebbero posto[:)][:)]

Molta carne al fuoco quest'anno; tante cose meritevoli sono rimaste fuori ma pazienza!
Sono stato indeciso fino all'ultimo se inserire due brani di De André ("Un ottico" e "Un chimico") ma vista l'abbondanza di materiale più propriamente progressive li cito solamente.
Con molto rammarico escludo anche "Musical Box" ma in quel disco meraviglioso ci sono due brani che amo di più... [8:-x][8:-x]
